Jacob is a new puppy going to a new home. He loves his owner, his mother, and his siblings. He can't wait to meet his new owners. He's going to regret this wish.
The author sent me a copy of this book to read for review. The book has been published and you can buy it now.
I was expecting a story of sweetness and kindness but Jacob's male owner is abusive. He sounds a lot like dog owners in this area. It's never the person's fault for lack of food, water or exercise. It's the dog's fault. I'm almost crying by the time the poor dog is taken in by the pound. At least they have have room and time for him.
The most heart warming part of the story is watching the two women who have adopted him retrain him. He's a sweet pup who meant no harm and he loves them but is afraid of him. They take the training slowly, comfort and encourage and never yell at him. It takes time but he gets well.
Do you have a puppy or kitten you're trying to rehome? Get some hints here! How could you not love Jacob?
