The Lumberjanes are back at camp for the summer. They are earning new scout badges and renewing friendships. They are told about a ghost cabin in the woods, so they decide to find it...
Amulet Books sent me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you). It has been published so you can get the next story about them now.
Molly and Mal are good friends and because Molly is sad at the idea of going home, Mal suggests they look for that cabin. They find it and it does have ghosts. Ghosts of Lumberjanes of the past. One ghost asks them for help. She doesn't want to stay in the cabin anymore, she wants to travel. But the others don't want her to leave, so there is a conflict.
First they have to find the Spector's Seal and then the live Lumberjanes would need to say her wish. They determine where it is: in the pond. The girl who is afraid of water says she'll scuba dive to find it.
Will she really be brave enough to do that? Will the ghost Lumberjanes let the girl leave who wants to?
The story includes illustrations by Brooklyn Allen and they add to the story. This was a fun middle grade read.
