Kai got some money as gifts during the Chinese New Year. His father takes him to the bank to deposit it but a monster ate it!
The author and PR by the Book shared an ARC of this book with me (thank you). It's been published and you can get a copy now.
After his sister was put to bed that night he has a talk with his mom and dad. He tells them about the monster that ate his money. His mother explains that it was an ATM machine that holds the money for the bank. She goes on to explain an armored would pick it up and deliver it to the bank. It was still his money. She showed him how to check on it and told him it would earn interest in the bank. His dad even gives him his own ATM card.
Kai can quit worrying, his money is safe.
There are discussion questions at the back of the book to be sure the reader understood the concepts. This an easy reader that teaches a young one about life. It's handled well and Sandhya Prabhat's illustrations are bright and cheerful. It's nicely done.
