The Oddmire, Book 1: Changeling by William Ritter

A Goblin takes a Changeling to the house with the newborn.  He intends to trade him for the real baby.  Unfortunately, he gets distracted and the changeling has mimiced the baby.  He can't tell which is which, so he leaves them both there...

Algonquin Young Readers and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published June 19th.

Annie knows she only had one child but she's willing to take on two  and love them both equally.  As they grow, they get into a lot of mischief.  But reading a goblin note and then following his map into Oddmire is more than mischief.  They know one of them will die, only the changeling will survive.  They don't know which of them is the changeling, but neither one wants to live without the other.  They'll go together to see what happens. Little do they know their mother is not far behind them.

There's magic, a witch, a little girl who can shapeshift, odd creatures and lots of danger and adventure.  Annie never gives up and neither do the boys.

The ending was a real surprise to me and I loved it.  In fact, I loved this whole book.  I'll be watching for Book 2.
