Have you ever been told: "Don't go into the woods. They're dangerous." In this story, they truly are...
Scholastic Graphix and Net Galley allowed me download this graphic novel and read it for review (thank you). It will be published August 27th.
I found this to be an interesting story. It's creepy, has lots of fantasy in it, but it has a human side to it, too.
Nate moves into a new town and old house. He's not too enthused over the move. He does get to choose his own room. While he's picking a room, he finds a loose board in it. He also finds a tape recorder under the board. The tape tells him the story of a boy from the past. The story of a lonely boy, not well treated, and feeling unloved. So unloved he goes into the woods...
The creatures of the wood are odd, many are evil, and the one leading them is the most monstrous of all. How can Nate and the girl, Tabitha, possibly fight against them? But if they don't, those from the wood will soon take over the town.
I consumed this story while I waited to see how the tale would end. I'm pleased to say that I don't think this will be the installment in this series. There's potential for a follow up book. We'll just have to wait and see, won't we?
Happy reading.
