Day by Day by Susan Gal

These pigs live a lot like the Amish.

Alfred A Knopf sent me a copy of this picture book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

Ms. Gal tells the story of a pig family's life.  They move, build a new home, decorate it, raise a garden, have picnics, harvest their crops and share it all with their neighbors.

The illustrations are vivid and luscious, the tale is charming, and this would work well as a read aloud book for young ones.

My favorite parts were:

Watching the pigs run in their underwear to swim in the mud and seeing them in bed with their books just before they went to sleep.

I bet your little ones will have favorite scenes, too.

Happy reading.

Right from the cover I was hooked! Story certainly sounds like an excellent one to share with little ones! Will have to start sharing these titles with friends whom have little ones. So many new and adorable stories coming out.
