For Laika : The Dog Who Learned the Names of the Stars by Kai Cheng Thom, Kai Yun Ching (Illustrated by)

This is a book that tells the story of Russian dogs that were sent to space.

Arsenal Pulp Press and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published January 18th.

Laika is a dog with no mom and dad.  She hangs out with other dogs until she's found by a scientist.  When he offers her food and a ride in the spaceship she says yes.  She knows the stars are dogs who have gone to heaven and she wants to visit.

She goes but what happens at the end of the story was not what she was planning on.The illustrations are great and you'll fall in love Laika.  It's a bit sad but she finally got to meet the dog stars.
