Home Sweet Homicide by Craig Rice, Otto Penzler

The children heard two gunshots next door.  They watched two cars drive away and then they saw a woman screaming about a dead body.  This is their opportunity.  If they can solve this crime, it will give their mother some needed publicity and will help her books sell better.

American Mystery Classics and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can pick up a copy now.

The children are what add life to this story.  I found myself laughing at the various antics.  They draw the cops off so they can sneak in the house, they play dumb when they're not, they are setting Mom up with a cop, and they are solving the killing.  How could you not have a good time reading this story?  I sure did!
