Polly Diamond and the Magic Book by Alice Kuipers, Diana Toledano

Polly finds a special journal and begins to write in it.  She loves to make lists and learn interesting words.  Imagine how she feels when her journal writes back to her!

Chronicle Books and Edelweiss allowed me to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published May 1st.

This is a sweet little story about a young girl who has wishes and is in her ultimate when she finds out that she can make them come true with this journal.  She wishes to be invisible and it works.  And when her little sister is a pain, she turns her into a banana.  But when the babysitter tries to eat the banana, things begin to get out of hand.

I've heard it said:  Be careful what you wish for because it might come true.  Polly starts to figure that out as she saves her sister.  She tries another wish but it doesn't work any better.  Polly learns that sometimes what you have isn't so bad...

This is a very enjoyable story with lovely illustrations.  It made me smile.  Why not share it with a little one you love?
