The Accidental Guardian by Mary Connealy

It's just another day on the wagon trail when the children wake up and need to go to the bathroom.  They head out into the tall grass leaving their caretakers sleeping expecting it only to take a minute.  Then the train is attacked...

Bethany House sent me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can purchase a copy now.

Deb ran a newspaper back east and her father spent the money she earned.  She was tired of disrespect, lost everything after his death, so she and her sister were headed to Sacramento and a new life.  She didn't need a new set back.

Ms. Connealy writes good historical fiction depicting the rough land, the rough men and the customs of the time.

Deb and her sister and two children are stranded in the middle of nowhere until Trace comes to help.  Will they survive or will the bad men win?

Visit the past, hold on tight and hold onto your faith...
