This is one of those series I wish I would have found later. I jumped on board with the first steampunk book and have been waiting very impatiently for the rest. This book sounds like the end but I could sure read more. The Secret Order is fascinating and it's been great fun to watch Meg grow up.
Simon Pulse and Edelweiss gave me the opportunity to read this book (thank you). It will be published February 3rd, 2015. If you haven't read the other books in this series, get started on them now.
Meg is determined to find her missing grandfather. She has classmates that are willing to help her (including one who is determined to marry her) and she does some spying. They are not supposed to be out at night and they not only get caught, they get in trouble. Once Meg has the scent of the man who keeps trying to kill her and who she thinks may have her grandfather, she's off like a bulldog on the hunt.
This turns into a grand adventure with mechanical guard dogs, metal monsters, and all sorts of people who step in to help with secret knowledge. Meg has to decide what she's going to do with her life and who she wants to spend it with. Love can be confusing sometimes. Just generally, Meg's life is confusing.
The finale in this story is amazing. When you're fighting a madman, anything is possible. Meg and Will have to fight for their lives and I worried about them. This is a fantastic series. I liked it so well, I'm buying all three books to add them to my personal library for re-reading. Once is not enough with this series.
