As they are getting ready to cut the cake, the local doctor falls into the cake and lands on the floor dead. He was poisoned and it's murder.
Then the woman who was getting divorced and had been a little too friendly with the doctor drives off the road and dies too. She had a tranquilizer in her blood which also indicated murder.
Carrie is snooping around for clues and finds out who did it. Will she survive long enough to tell someone?
