(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding and Steve Cropper

This song was a favorite of mine back in the day, so I had to see how it held up in book form.

Akashic Books sent me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can get a copy now.

This was done nicely.  The main character is a cat who sits and fishes from morning to night.  Some time is just wasted but it's a pleasant place to do it.  The illustrations are nicely done.

The best part is the end where the cat develops a friend who fishes also.

This is a great way to show your child songs from the past.
