A Stranger in Town : A Rockton Novel by Kelley Armstrong

Casey is a detective and the Sheriff Dalton is her boyfriend.  They live in a fairly small town in the woods.  There are others living in the area, too, but they are hostiles and are on drugs.  They work hard to keep them apart.

Macmillan and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published February 2nd.

They are in a deserted area of the country and there are rules for the residents. You can stay for a couple years but then you have to file for an extension.  Not all of them are granted.

This is rough country so they ask the town folks to stay out of the woods.  They don't always do it.  And sometimes they don't return.

They find two sets of campers that have been killed.  There is one survivor but she's unconscious.  They take her home with them and to the hospital for treatment.

There are several deaths, and you really can't trust anyone.  My favorite character was the wolfhound.

They may have to move again and start over in a new place.  Let's hope there will be no hostiles there.
